Wyclef Jean to Announce Bid for Presidency of Haiti Within Two Weeks

Sources tells the New York Post that Wyclef Jean will formally announce his bid for the presidency of Haiti within two weeks.  Wyclef has been tirelessly devoted to his native Haiti, especially after it was struck by a devastating earthquake earlier this year.

The 37-year-old former Fugees star told CNN earlier this week that he has completed the required paperwork to run in Haiti’s November 28th presidential election.  The musician’s family issued a statement Tuesday saying, “Wyclef’s commitment to his homeland and its youth is boundless, and he will remain its greatest supporter.”
