Florida Senator Rick Scott is urging officials in Tampa to reconsider two scheduled Ye concerts at Raymond James Stadium, citing the rapper’s history of antisemitic remarks.
In a message to the Tampa Sports Authority, Scott said a taxpayer-supported venue should not host the performances while concerns remain over Ye’s past public statements. The shows are currently scheduled for June 26 and June 28, 2026.
Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, has faced widespread criticism in recent years for repeated antisemitic comments. Those remarks led to business fallout, public backlash, and the end of several major partnerships.
He later issued an apology, though criticism has continued as new performances and public appearances are announced.
Raymond James Stadium is owned by Hillsborough County and managed by the Tampa Sports Authority. That connection has added another layer to the debate, since public facilities often face closer scrutiny when controversial artists or events are involved.
As of now, the concerts remain on the schedule.
